VisArts wedding in Rockville, Maryland.

VisArts is located right next to an ice rink, so when Sarah and Michael suggested doing their photos on the ice, I couldn’t have been more excited. I love skating, and how often do you get the chance to capture such a unique setting?

I didn’t hesitate to lace up my own skates and join them on the ice. Half the time, their laughter was probably more nerves than anything—they seemed a little worried I might take a tumble or, worse, drop my camera. Thankfully, everything went smoothly! Moments like these are also a reminder of why I always carry backup equipment. You never know.

In the end, we got some incredible, candid shots filled with energy and fun. Skating together made the session feel so much more personal and memorable!
